The Voices feature enables you to craft new songs featuring a voice from our Voices library or from one of your previously-created songs!
This contrasts with our complementary Styles feature, which lets you create a new song that matches one or more other song styles.

Availability
Platform availability
Voices is available on the web, including the mobile web.
It is not currently available in our iOS app.
Source availability
Also, note that the Voices feature can only use voices from the Voices library or 'native' Udio songs; you cannot upload your own voice as a source at this time, nor can you use a voice from a Udio song that's associated with uploaded audio.
Availability by membership tier
- All members can create mashups with a Voice and a Style in the Playground.
- Subscribers can use advanced and customized Voice options, including with their own songs, in the Create flow.
Using Voices in the Playground

- Select the Playground option in the lefthand menu.
- Click the Dice icon in the middle to have Udio randomly select a fun Voice & Style pairing, or choose your own Voice & Style.
- Describe the lyrics you'd like to have sung.
- Note that you can't specify the exact lyrics you want in the Playground; for that, you need to go through the Create flow.
- Click CREATE.
Using Voices in the Create flow

- Navigate to the Create page by clicking on CREATE on the lefthand menu or going to udio.com/create.
- Decide whether you want to initiate a new song creation by using a text prompt ("Describe your song" or by having Udio mimic the style of another song on or off the platform ("Use a Style").
- Note that if you choose to create a song from a Style (vs. a text prompt), you won't be able to have Udio auto-generate lyrics if you use your own song as a reference for Voices.
- Activate Voice Control by toggling that option on.
- Select a voice by dragging and dropping one of the voices above to the drop region, by clicking the + on one of those voices, or by dragging and dropping one of the songs from your library on the righthand side.
- Optionally set the STRENGTH of the Voices feature. Note that we've set a default that typically yields the best output, and that max strength does not inherently result in the best voice matching. However, results will vary based on factors such as genre, associated Style, etc... so feel free to experiment!
- Optionally make adjustments in the Advanced Control section, just as you'd do for any Udio song.
Optionally use Voices Blending
After you've selected one song as a Voices reference, you can click "Create Blend" to add a second reference song and optionally use the slider to specify the proportional influence of each song.
⚠️ Some songs can't be used with Voices
Note that there are a few situations in which you cannot use the Voices feature with specific songs you've created on Udio, specifically...
- Any songs created in June 2024 or earlier
- Songs crafted on Udio by creators other than yourself
- Songs that are associated with any uploaded audio (including via remixes, extensions, etc.)
Using, saving, and re-using voices

⚠️ Before you SAVE a voice, you have to USE a voice in a song you create
Read on to understand how to tackle this in the right order.
Using a voice from one song in another song
You can initiate using a voice from one of your songs from one of three entry points:
- On Create page described above
OR
- Through the three dot menu to the right of the desired song in your library

OR
- Via the CREATE button on one of your song pages

As a reminder, there are a few instances in which you won't be able to copy a voice from one of your songs.
Saving a voice for later use
Once you have used a voice from one song in another song as described above, you can then SAVE the voice for later convenient access.

Using a voice that you saved earlier
Once you've used, then saved a voice, you can re-use that voice later by finding it via the Saved tab of the Create page.
- Go to the Create page by clicking on Create on the lefthand menu or visiting udio.com/create.
- Ensure that Voice Control is activated, and select the Saved tab

- As with other voices in Voices, you can preview a voice by clicking on its play button, and you can select that voice by dragging it or +'ing it.
Want to rename one of your voices? No prob! Just right click and then select Rename.
